Responsibility
Bringing about positive changes in the society through constructive efforts has always been one of our primary objectives. At JIS Group, we whole-heartedly inculcate the values of morality, empathy and compassion among our students. Through various clubs, we also make the students aware of their social responsibility so that they become responsible adults, both in personal and professional life. The institutions make the students aware of the impacts of their decisions on the community and environment. We, at JIS, keep motivating our students to set examples that will eventually inspire others and improve the quality of lives in the society.
Sports
We all need a break from studies and lectures to rejuvenate ourselves and sports are the best way in which the stamina of the students is boosted. The institutions under JIS Group induce the spirit of sportsmanship in students and encourage them to participate in sports and games to inculcate the values of Discipline, Leadership Quality, and Teamwork within them, thus helping them lead a healthy life. For this purpose, all our campuses have large cricket and football grounds, volleyball, table tennis, basketball and badminton courts. Yoga and Meditation classes are also conducted for the students. To encourage the students to participate in the different sports activities, Inter-College, Intra-College Tournaments like Sardar Jodh Singh Tournament (inter-college), Raftar (Intra-College) are organized every year. All the institutions have their separate football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, tennis, chess and badminton teams. The Sports Committees and Sports Clubs of the various institutions organize different outdoor and indoor sports competitions throughout the year namely, cricket tournament, football tournament, annual sports, indoor table tennis competition, chess competition etc. The students of the institutes have also represented their respective Institutions/University at various sports tournaments held at the University and State level.
Cultural Activity and Fest
Cultural Activities are an integral part of college/ university life. As most of these activities are group-oriented, it allows students to interact with students from different cultural and social backgrounds. At JIS, we have always believed that cultural activities/fests allow students to improve their organizational and leadership skills and also strengthen their interpersonal communication which would help them to a great extent in their professional life in the future. The cultural activities at the JIS Group of institutions allow all the students to be involved in culturally enriching activities, thus giving students the chance to grow beyond the field of academics. The institutions have a dedicated cultural committee that takes care of all these cultural programs and guides the students in their ventures. The institutions organize cultural programs on special days like Saraswati Puja, International Mother Language Day, Bengali New Year, Rabindra Jayanti, Nazrul Jayanti, World Environment Day, Holi,15th August, Republic Day, Durga Puja, Bijoya Sammilani, Teachers Day, Guru Nanak’s Birthday, Christmas Carnival, etc. Cultural fests and competitions (both inter-college and intra-college) are organized from time to time, students perform in different categories like solo singing, solo dancing, group singing, group dancing, debates, recitation, photography, fashion show, painting and much more. The students have represented their respective college/ university at state and national levels and have won several laurels too. Apart from students, the Faculty and Staff members also participate in the cultural programs.
SkillX
“SKILLX” is an event hosted by JIS Group where young and talented students display their innovation and creativity through models and ideas ranging from pharmaceutical waste management system, herbal face wash, aquaponics production of mushroom, biocontrol agent & organic juice component from organic industrial waste, accident prevention road safety model, high-tech obstacle avoidance car, data transfer using LED technology, human-human interface,etc. The -judges’ panel comprises experts from different specialized areas. In “SKILLX”, an Inter-School Model Competition was organized too, where more than 120 students from 15 institutions participated to display their innovative models on various topics.
